In alpine meadow regions, the tarns that dried up during summer start to fill up again with rain water in the fall, partly submerging the grasses that grew during summer. An early frost had made the sprigs of grass die back and fall on top of the water in amazing starry patterns, reminding me of Van Gogh’s Starry Night.
